See More, Larger Images: Jesus pics on the Cross
That site I linked above has so many beautiful pics of Jesus Christ. This example ("Jesus on Cross") is drawn from a very unique perspective; it was a close up from the side showing the Lord from head to abdomen, with His head looking down towards the Earth and slightly towards us viewers. The contrasting colors and shadows around Him are striking. Most everything before Him is orange, sunny and warm, while shadows behind and around Him are tinged with blues and purples. The light appears to be coming from the distance before His head, while his hand stretches out to us, who are in His shadow.
Do you know some serious scholars say there is proof of Jesus - that His family tomb and even some remains were discovered in an elaborate underground chamber? I was the first person to write an historically- and archaeologically- based novel about it. It is written as a detective story that many say it is heart-felt and a real page turner... On this note: Have you heard of James, Brother of Jesus? A researcher that found a similar bone box was just acquitted for perjury. This will surely renew interest in James' ossuary in a huge way! I wrote a novel, through the eyes of Mary, about James, and make my case for his being the leader of the Early Christianity community in Qumran and for his being the mysterious Dead Sea Scrolls writer, following his brother, Jesus', crucifixion. Simple dramatic depictions of statues portray events very powerfully and directly. You can get images of him carrying up the Cross as well as images of him later nailed to it.
There are also images that offer more perspective, including the 2 other men crucified along with the Lord. One of them has beautiful brown tones below magical skies that suggest this life ending and the next beginning.
You can even get clothing and frames with the Lord. These are super comfortable and the cuts of the apparel is great.
This one reminds me of stained glass artwork. Here the Lord is in complete peace as he looks into us. He is holding the cross but has a hole in his hand; the suggestion is that this would be Jesus following the resurrection or in his home in Heaven, as bright as the colors of the painting.
Here is another Renaissance-looking image. This one is dark with bright figures up front that is reminds me my favorite late Italian paintings. Can you guess which?
